Ha ha ha!
It’s been
four months
since I’ve seen you last
when there was ice
in the air
and biting frost
grazing through my hair
but you were warm
like the sun,
warming my cold,
I know we had fun.
Now you’re back
and it’s summer
but I
don’t really
know how to explain.
Something’s cool
in your smile
and it’s starting
to show
that you’ve changed.
Was I just
something
to pass the
snowy time?
A chip of ice
to cool down
your flame.
That blonde
you’re looking at
now is damn fine.
Looks like heat
is more within
your sight line.
I can see through
that facade
like a window
of cracked glass.
Seasons change,
connections don’t
last.
I guess
I was just
a cool breeze
to make the time
pass.
How funny.
Ha.
Ha.

“seasons change, connections don’t last”
π₯ so sad but so true. I think it is more common that relationships (platonic or romantic) are based on convenience rather than connection. I don’t believe that the act of falling in love is truly a form of “love” anymore because falling in love is a heightened state of emotion that burns out eventually. True love takes effort and effort means you’re willing to accept a person and love them for who they are, not what you want or need them to be.
That being said, this poem makes me want to give you a huge bear hug! β‘ You are so strong, beautiful, and brilliant. I know you are strong because only a person that has overcome something can take their pain and transmute it, especially into art. Simply beautiful! I love what you do. xoxoxo β‘

I don't believe in love at first sight. Like you said, true love takes time and effort. You have to see a person as they truly are and take in all their imperfections with their virtues. True love is something that takes commitment, and most importantly time. Time is the only way you truly get to know someone. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
