no shadows
for eyes
to see
no fire
except for the one
extinguishing in me
no care
as the world
turns to night
no heart
to tell myself
to fight
(everything is just dark)

Name's Jai Lynn, Jai like blue jay and Lynn which rhymes with sin. Speaking of sins, life is too short to not do what you're passionate about. So, I'm going to write. Welcome to my domain of poetry, short fiction, and (if you look for it) a little magic too.

You’ve put it it starkly and boldly, and that is commendable. The rhyme, the juxtaposition of a fire. Just absolutely exquisite. I hope it isn’t a reflection though.

Thank you for your kind words ❤ Truely! I was recently in a major power outage after a terrible tropical storm hit my community and this poem was born from the feelings I was having as the days dragged on and on and still we were without power or light. I'm doing so much better now though since the lights have come back on lol! 😀
