“Moon”

The first phantom
that appears in the night
leaves me wondering
in either longing, or fright.

Are you really
what I see?
There’s no such thing
as reality.

Sometimes smiling
with a Cheshire Cat grin.
Sometimes screaming,
mouth wide on a whim.

Are you
watching me?
Or am I the one
keeping you under lock and key?

Do you frighten
to keep me away?
Or are you scary
to keep the other monsters at bay?

As the night leaves
you will vanish soon.
Tell me, do you love
or hate me, my moon?

  1. This is a new favourite for me out of all your beautiful poems.

I love the moon and I connect with it on another level. The moon brings the ebb and flow of our tides. It’s as reliable and present for us as the sun. The moon illuminates the darkness and our own shadows. I am so excited to witness the BLUE moon this Halloween!!! ♡

    1. Thank you Jenni, aww omg your comments make me cry happy tears ❤ I love the moon too. This is why we are kindred spirits lol!! There is something just magnetizing about it, and this may sound odd but I always felt deep down that maybe it was watching over me. Either way, I consider it a mysterious beautiful treasure that I am so glad exists ❤
